Survey Reveals What People Pack for Holidays

When some people travel they pack the bare minimum in their suitcases. Some other people try and fit everything in their house in the suitcase.

British airways has recently completed a survey and found some interesting things that people have taken on holidays with them, including food items such as sardines, peanut butter, Marmite and even tomatoes. Fancy dress nuns’ outfits, kettles and potato peelers were some of the other unusual items some people like to take with them.

 “We don’t really want to have to choose between books, toiletries or tea-bags, or to dress kids in half their holiday clothes just to avoid excess baggage fees,” said Abigail Comber, British Airways’ head of brands and marketing.

“Something as basic as checking what your baggage limit is on your chosen airline will help. We know from the research that 23 per cent of people don’t look into it before they get to the airport.”

The survey found that most people love to over-pack. It was found that nine out of ten holidaymakers don’t use up to 30 per cent of the items they take away with them. And almost half of us take more than three pairs of shoes on a week-long holiday, and . that one in eight of us take more than three towels with us!
