- Surfest 2012 (7-18 March);
- CMC Rocks the Hunter (16-18 March);
- opening round blockbuster NRL Telstra Premiership matches
between the Newcastle Knights and St George (1 March) and Brisbane (16 March);
- home Hyundai A-League matches for the Newcastle Jets
against Gold Coast United (9 March) and Brisbane Roar (17 March);
- the NAB Newcastle Regional Show (16-18 March); and
- the Sparke/Helmore NBN Television Triathlon Festival
(16-18 March).

Speaking at the launch, held at Merewether Beach, Mr George Souris said:
"More than half a billion dollars has been injected into the NSW economy
from the State’s events calendar for 2011, and regional NSW is a big part of
that story.”
