Funding For 113 NSW Tourism Projects

Destination NSW has approved funding for 113 projects, as part of ‘Stream One’ of the Regional Tourism Product Development Funding program.

The ten mainland Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) have each received funding of $250,000 and Inland (representing New England North West, Outback and Capital Country) received $750,000. Funding from the NSW Government’s new $5 million program has been allocated across selected projects to develop existing and new tourism products in the regions.

The product development projects range from new conference and event facilities, to the development of touring routes and trails, cultural Indigenous tourism experiences, museums, regional festivals and events. Many RTOs have developed projects which are focused on business development workshops and training for tourism operators.

Highlights from the Stream One projects include; a new water dining experience with Port Stephens tourism operator, Y Knot Charters; enhancements to the Easter Jindabyne Lake Light Sculpture Festival; a new touring route in North West NSW; and a new ‘Byron Easy Bus’ airport shuttle to operate between Casino and Lismore.
